Befriend Me
Website: www.befriendme.com

Befriendme.com is a free social networking site that introduces people with common interests. The site has been gaining in popularity, but user feedback indicated that the site could be simpler and easier to use. A website redesign improved usability and navigation, as well as page load times and SEO.

"The navigation on the redesigned site is simple and easy to find. It's easy to identify where you're at in the site at any time" -- Dan, Websites.com judge

Second Place Winner: $3,000

Discount Jewelry
Website: www.discountjewelry.com

After being online for several years, Discount Jewelry's website needed a facelift. In addition, the company planned to increase its online products dramatically (from 26,000 to 1.7 million), which called for a more robust online product management system. A website redesign resulted in a technical backend built for speed, especially during product searches, and a more engaging visitor experience.

"It's simple to browse products by category on the redesigned site. The similar products feature is a nice touch." -- Jeff, Websites.com judge

La Mesa Village
Website: www.lmvma.com

For the past 15 years, the La Mesa Village Merchants Association (LMVMA) has sponsored a website to promote the village's merchants and events, but the design remained relatively static during that time. The site needed a modern look to showcase upcoming events while also paying tribute to the village's historic past. After a redesign, the site is poised to attract more regular visitors and event attendees.

"This is an improvement over the last site design. It provides some good information to the audience." -- Wendy, Websites.com judge
